Typical Annual Salaries Tax Process:

Tax year

1st April to 31st March

Hong Kong follows a fiscal tax year

Individual tax returns issued

Beginning of May

For individuals new to Hong Kong, it may take additional time for the tax authority to create an individual tax record and issue the return

Salaries tax payments due

January and April of the following year

Payment due dates are specified in a Notice of Assessment, issued by the tax authority

Process overview
